ElderPower — locally made elderberry syrup for immune support!

Nature’s Cupboard proudly carries the superb, local and absolutely delicious ElderPower elderberry syrup from Sundance Botanicals. This has become one of our go-to favorite immune supporting products for the whole family.

Elderpower elderberry syrup is an immune-boosting, delicious nutritional supplement made from quality USDA organic ingredients and sweetened with locally-sourced raw honey. Each batch is hand-crafted in LaPorte, Indiana.

Elderberries are tiny, dark berries that grow in clusters on the flowering elder tree that is indigenous to North America. They have been used for centuries for their immune-boosting and anti-infectious properties. In 400BC, Hippocrates referred to the black elderberry shrub as his medicine chest.

Natural substances called flavonoids, such as quercetin and anthocyanins, are present in elderberries. These increase cytokine production and have antioxidant properties known to reduce free radicals within the cells, preventing damage, and promoting anti-cancerous and anti-aging processes. According to the USDA, elderberries are ranked as one of the highest food sources of antioxidants – even more so than blueberries! One study suggests that consumption of elderberry extract can inhibit several strains of the influenza virus and reduce the symptoms.
